I’ve seen over 10 specialists for my TMJ that I’ve had for many years. Dr. Perkins is the first and only specialist who is able to not only get rid of my chronic headaches for over 20 years but I also did a magnificent job with veneers to give me that smile I’ve always been wanting. Due to a power outage, my daughter’s appointment had to be cancelled. However, it was quickly rescheduled within 48 hours…very pleased. Usually it takes up to 2 weeks or more to be rescheduled regardless of the circumstances at other medical facilities. Front staff is extremely friendly and courteous. You can see Julie’s smile through her mask. Back office staff is very professional and experienced. She made my daughter feel safe and comfortable. What can I say about Dr. Perkins…? TOP NOTCH!!! He spent over 45 minutes evaluating and explaining the different phases that would help my beautiful daughter. Additional time was spent providing care. It is seldom to have a completly pleasant experience at medical appointments. Sometimes the front staff can be rude and the doctor is awesome, or the back office staff is rude but everyone else is fine, ..etc. This was our first visit with Dr. Perkins and our experience was wonderful from start to finish!

After years (7 to be exact) of ortho treatment my previous orthodontic left me with one front tooth directly centered in my mouth. He stated that there wasn’t much he could do since I was born with only 1 front tooth. Yes an implant was a suggestion but that would involve braces again to obtain space and that would take another few years, or to veneer the tooth next to the front tooth to the same size giving the illusion of two front teeth. Even thou my teeth would be off missing an anterior tooth on one side. I was anxious to have my braces removed and deal with what I had until I met Dr. Perkins. He was able to make the space he needed for a bridge in 3 months. He was the only dentist that looked at me and said, I can do this, give me 3 months. He was right he did it, I am now able to talk and smile with confidence, I am so HAPPY with my results! Dr Perkins does an amazing job! While I was in the office I got to see some of his Veneer work on other patients, again amazed of how natural and real he made them look. All I can say is he knows what he is doing when it comes to teeth and Jaw advancement!! I had a Great experience with him and his office staff, THANK YOU!!

Yesterday I had my appointment with Dr. Perkins. I went to him because I’ve had severe, chronic TMJ for many years. Dr. Perkins was very kind and caring along with his assistants who were super friendly. He listened attentively to everything I said, and asked a lot of questions to understand how to best help me. When we started my treatment I was a bit nervous because my case is so severe. He was very patient, gentle and careful, and so was his assistant. I feel more hopeful now that I can get better from debilitating condition. From my experience, it is clear to me that Dr. Perkins really wants to help his patients get better.

Dr Perkins is amazing! He took his time to explain everything and personally texted me same day to see how I was feeling after the treatment. Also when I needed to revisit for him to adjust, he was so patient, calm and accommodating. I drive an hour just to see him and it’s worth every minute.

Besides the treatment I received so far (i’m in the middle of it) that has literally gotten rid of my TMJ symptoms, the entire team at Dr. Perkins’ office are all wonderful people. Dr. Perkins is such a caring soul who just wants to help his patients and the rest of his team follows his mission of helping everyone that comes through their door. They really worked with me and figured out a way to help me (I recently graduated college and am just starting my career, it’s tough out here!) and I know they do the same for their wide range of patients with varying symptoms and circumstances. I had most symptoms – sleeping issues, pain, cracks and jaw noise, jaw tightening, etc. and after the first visit, treatment started and it helped immediately. Dr. Perkins is very knowledgeable about it all and he has trained his staff to the utmost degree as well to make you feel comfortable and ready for your next step. I look forward to the rest of my treatment along with orthodontics (which Dr. Perkins also does) to bring out my best smile as well as continue my life free of TMJ symptoms! Had an excellent experience with the treatment that I received from Dr. Bob Perkins. Went in for an evaluation for excruciating jaw pain that had resulted from a car accident. I was in terrible pain for eight months prior to see Dr Perkins, after my 1st treatment which was temporary my pain was reduced by about 85% which I noticed when we stopped to get a bite to eat after the visit. I highly recommend Dr. Perkins and all his Staff as they treat you like Family. It’s been approximately 6 months and no pain whatsoever.

I have to say the truth as a human being this Dr.Robert Perkins knows his Dentistry is talented he did a full mouth reconstruction for my TMJ problem and it did work .His extremely talented and does fabulous cosmetic work also He does Clear brasses and if you really don’t want to were brasses for along time he can do it in a short time and he knows what he is doing I am a very honest person who has worked in the Dental field for 31 years of my entire life he also has saved alot of life’s with his professional experience in snoring he could do it with an alliance or he can also use a method with a permanent solution and open your air way so you can have the proper oxygen that needs to go through you body and prevent you from getting a heart attack or stroke. I highly recommend him he is really talented and all you have to do is follow up with your treatment.

I know this will probably sound crazy, however, I rate a visit to “Smiles in Malibu” right up there with a “Spa Day”. Yes it was really that good. Let’s start with the beautiful location in Malibu. Definitely worth the drive from Burbank. The pampering begins the moment you walk in the door and receive a worm greeting from Wendy. She really knows how to make you feel special. Jenny (the hygienist) is amazing, so gentle, yet so thorough. I tend to get a lot of tartar between cleanings, which can result in a bit of a struggle for most hygienists, (not to mention the patient). However, not an issue, for the amazing Jenny. She was so attentive to my needs and even took the time to pre-manage any pain, I might experience during my cleaning. I am happy to say My visit was 100% pain free. I realize that this may sound a bit over the top…..however, I am really looking forward to my next visit. In fact, I am going to use some of my vacation time and make it a “Me Day” in Malibu 🙂

I’ve suffered from migraines for 20+ years and tried so many different remedies, from meds to Botox. Nothing has worked to reduce my migraines to almost zero like the work Dr. Perkins has done to correct my bite. I was amazed when the first test — two weeks with acrylic on my bottom teeth to re-align my bite — worked. No migraines at all! I’m so happy I continued treatment. We did braces as well, because I had overcrowding and needed to move teeth to accommodate crowns for my new bite. Dr. Perkins was always accommodating, informative and kind. I’m thrilled — my new bite has not only reduced my migraines, but it looks great, and the ortho was the cherry on top. I highly recommend Dr. Perkins for anyone who suffers from migraines and could benefit from a bite re-alignment.

I drove out to Malibu to meet Dr. Perkins and was truly amazed at how quickly he was able to align my bite,. He worked with composite material to buildup my molars resulting in a BRAND NEW BITE & he relieved the constant ache/pain that I have had in my TMJ for almost 10 years. His talent far surpasses any Dentist I have ever experienced~He was able to do 4 fillings in 15 minutes that removed ALLof my pain and sensitivity (all without anesthesia). After seeing many other Dentists & spending a lot of un necessary money, I finally found the place I now hope to call my “Dental Nest” in all my years to come. I want to share him internationally and would say it’s worth the travels to get to him…He is a miracle working Dentist & an absolute Genius.

If you suffer from TMJ more accurately, TMJD, Dr. Perkins is the best. It took me two years to finally find an affordable solution that works. I couldn’t sleep, eat and speak without pain or difficulty. I must have spent close to 2000 dollars on treatments and “consultations” from every TMJD pain specialist in LA. I even tried botox into the muscles. I had one friend in Florida who was suffering just like me who ended up getting surgery for full jaw reconstruction… I didn’t want to do that!! After my first visit to Smiles in Malibu, my TMJD felt 75 percent better within 30 minutes. It was so obvious that this dentist understands the neuromuscular and occlusion issues. Other dentists and “specialists” don’t know the things he knows about the TMJ. My jaw was a disaster and I was on the verge of giving up all hope. After just a few visits with Dr. Perkin’s focus on my jaw issue, he was able to alleviate all my pain. I am in the final stages of treatment and recommend him to all my friends with TMJD/TMJ. It’s also a beautiful drive up the coast to his office and an even better drive home without the JAW PAIN!
